Updated: Dec 10, 2021
How many of you here can tell me what your hair type is? And don't tell me your answer is straight, wavy, curly etc. We are talking about answers like Type 3a. If you have no heck of a clue what I'm talking about, read on to find out.

Everyone's hair is unique and also determined by genetics, but nowadays, if you want straight hair, you got it! If you want big bouncy curls, that's easily obtainable too. Some people are naturally born with "good hair day" everyday, some people turn into a ball of frizz once the weather gets too humid. I personally feel that everyone focuses on skincare too much these days. What about your lovely locks? Nobody gives their hair enough TLC these days, sheesh! Enough talk, let's dive in, shall we?
Hair Type
Picture this. Your hair accidentally gets caught in the joints of your glasses or your clothes and you just ripped it off (I pray for you). Take a look at the root of your hair. Is there a small white insignificant bud? That, my friend is a follicle. The follicle is the culprit which determines whether you have mop-like straight hair, or thick af coils. Now, you can straighten or go full on kung fu hustle aunty curls on your hair, but no matter what, once your hair grows out, it will always return to its original state. This is because it's written in the stars (and your DNA) that your hair is the way it is.
According to the chart above:
Type 1 - Straight Hair
Type 2 - Wavy Hair
Type 3 - Curly Hair
Type 4 - Coily Hair
So everyone normally stops here when you ask them to categorise their hair, but we are going follicle-deep (get it?) this time to determine your hair type once and for all. It's vital to know your hair type before you can keep it healthy and shiny. Read on to see the breakdown on what each type of hair feels like.
Type 1a
To the readers out there who constantly look like they just straightened their hair, hello! Type 1a hair is normally the flattest, thinnest and silkiest type. Some people with this hair type find it super hard to curl their hair even with a curling iron (Inez is one of them).
