Essential Shoes Every Woman Needs
Hello all! Here are the essential shoes that every woman should have in her closet to walk all her worries away. What I'm about to recommend you are timeless classics that will be here no matter what trend is blowing around in the fashion radar. Normally, people would invest in golden styles which will not be out of trend, but if you do not have the budget for this, don't worry. You could always purchase cheaper brands and try them out to know what you really look for in a pair of shoes. It's great to experiment around with the shoes that fit your style, whether they are preppy, too formal or too casual.
1. Ankle Boots
I'm a strong believer that no matter how hot the weather outside is, it's never too hot for ankle boots. (Provided yours aren't lined with wool) Another philosophy of mine would be, no matter how short or how fat ankle boots make your legs look, they can still look great on you if you pair them well. If you're fairly leggy and skinny, always show off your legs! They are probably your greatest feature. Pair your ankle boots with shorts and those you'll be ready to rock the world. If you are on the plump side, wear them with boot cut jeans or straight jeans to further elongate your legs.
If you will be walking the whole city in your boots, opt for Chelsea boots. They give a grunge twist to your look yet still maintaining the girly innocent look. These Prada Boots are my absolute fave.
If you are looking for heeled ankle boots, these are guaranteed to make heads turn with envy.
2. Mary Janes
Every time I wear a pair of Mary Janes, they automatically bring out the innocent girl in me. In recent years, fashion has given a twist to the Mary Janes. Take Dr. Martens for example. The Core Polley Mary Janes were proof that this style of shoes need not necessarily be feminine. Pair them with high socks and a frilly mini skirt if you are going for the "Soft Girl" look or bring out the Hufflepuff in you by pairing them with yellow corduroy jeans. Adopt this shoe style and it automatically gives you the "You can't sit with us" vibe.
What's more, they are super comfortable to walk in should you suddenly wish to take a walk in the park with your S.O. Once you wear these, you'll bid farewell to those flimsy strappy sandals! (Especially if your feet sweat.)
If you are going for the "Cottagecore" aesthetic which was such a hit back in 2021, this pair from Dior really make the cut.
3. Slides
When we say slides, what comes to your mind? I know the first one I think of is the Adidas Adilette. They are practically a staple in model off-duty fashion now. I'm not exactly a big fan of the athleisure trend because it might seem a bit sloppy. Some styles can instantly elevate your look while achieving comfort as well.
When comparing slides with T-strap slippers, I still prefer slides. I once was an avid fan of the Birkenstock Gizeh Sandals too. Something about the middle toe post which separates your big toe and second toe made it increasingly painful to wear after 3 years and soon after, the gap between my two toes was getting bigger. Hence my clever deduction concludes that slides would be a better choice for me.
I've heard how the Hermès Oran Sandals have taken the world by storm. It's not really my look as it gives off a more matured and sophisticated aura. Here's my pick instead.
4. White Sneakers
If you don't think that white sneakers are a staple in everyone's shoe arsenal, we can't be friends. Ok at least try them out with your outfits first? They are absolutely versatile, no matter the occasion. Got your mom jeans on? Wear your white sneakers. Going out on a date? Wear your white sneakers. Running some errands? Wear your white sneakers. Ok, you get the gist. The Gucci Ace Embroidered Sneakers were such a big hit back in 2018 and they still are. My honest opinion? The soles are too hard for you to walk in anything (and this is comparing to the Adidas Stan Smiths).
After testing out different white sneakers for almost 7 years, I believe that you should always look for a comfortable fit with a timeless style. Would someone kindly tell me if you think that dad sneakers look good. I mean, I've tried to look at it in various perspectives and I've found it utterly hideous (I'm sorry Yeezy). In contrast, I think that the Converse All Star is super timeless regardless of its old-school design.
I know I said white sneakers, but just look at how sleek this all-black Stan Smith is! Available in all-white as well!
5. Slingback Pumps
Be it a wedding, daily workwear or casual date nights, the trusty slingback pumps are the shoes you can rely on for every occasion IF you want something different. (I'm trying really hard to justify myself for saying the exact same thing in the White Sneakers section!) Opt for a block heel if you are going to do more walking.
I can't tell you how long I've been eyeing this pair of Ferragamos! They make the best slingback pumps.
These ones from Gucci also caught my eye! I haven't worn these before but they look really expensive. (In a good way!)
6. Ballet Flats
As you all know, I'm a ballet afficionado, did you think I was going to forget about this absolute treasure? Ballet flats are a must-have in my shoe collection! I remember having these really old pair of Puma foldable flats which I would wear everywhere and there were the most convenient and comfortable pair of shoes I had.
Where better to look for ballet flats but ballet shoemakers themselves? I've chosen this one for you guys because I like my shoes not too low. (And also because I'm fairly short)
If you would like to stick to the classic ballet flats, this would be my pick.
There you go my lovelies, these are the shoes that every woman should have in their collection! I hope you have enjoyed this article, see you soon!
