2026 Fashion Ins I'm Actually Wearing: Slouchy Bags, Lace, Chocolate Brown and More

The major shift in the creative directors for the top fashion houses has definitely helped us look at fashion from a different perspective. Who'd knew that ladybirds would look so good on Lady Diors?
So I spent 3 days viewing multiple SS26 fashion shows and doomscrolling on Pinterest and I have to say that I adore most of this year's trends. Grab a cup of coffee and let's go through it together!
Handbag Trends
Big, Soft and Slouchy
As a petite female, I am very much grateful for this trend and will embrace it fully. The only big bags that I own are totes because any other large bag will just look like I stayed in it the night before. I also appreciate how fashion is steering more towards functional and comfortable now. I'm looking at Jacquemus when I say this, I absolutely love minibags, but the idea of them will only be as beautiful as using them as a purse. Here are my top picks for slouchy handbags.

Rich textures and chains
Since FW25, we saw alot of suede bags and I am such a fan. Something about this material adds elegance and yet a tint of cool factor to your outfit. What goes well with dark-coloured suede bags? Well gold chains of course. The high contrast really captures attention from a mile away.

Bonus points for this bag as it meets the East-West handbag trend too.
Fashion Newbie Tip
East-West handbags are rectangular-shaped, stretching from East to West, hence the name.
Clothing Trends
Satin or Silk Pieces
Coming from a hot and humid climate, I am all for this trend. Satin and silk are both elegant and comfortable to the skin. As we embrace romanticism in 2026, try looking for pieces which include lace as well. Satin and lace are a perfect combo to acheive the Keira-Knightley-in-Pirates-of-the-Carribean look. Checkout my picks below.

Bonus points to this dress for including the assymetrical hems! I couldn't help myself I purchased this.

Glamoratti
Glamoratti means Glamour from the 80s, another trend predicted from Pinterest, my favourite social media platform. We are looking at strong and sculptured shoulders with belted waists, which I believe evolved from the Corporate Core/ Office Siren trend. Finally, something we can all wear to office!

I absolutely loved how they styled her with the sheer lace top inside. Gives an I'm-powerful-but-I-can-be-a-kitten too look.

Academia/Literary Chic
When talking about aesthetics, I remember going crazy over Light/Dark Academia in 2024. I was obsessed with Dead Poets Society and when Taylor Swift released her album, that was the cherry on top to fully enjoy the aesthetic. Evolved from the Old Money aesthetic, Literary Chic is almost similar, but is more focused on intellectualism and arts, like being a student in Harvard University. Key elements are like moody autumnal colours, scent of old books and a pair of heavily worn Dr. Martens.

Footwear Trends
Knee-high Boots
Let me tell you a secret. I have always loved high boots and everytime I book my travels, I always book cold places so that I can take them out because these boots were made for walkin'. Another trend worth mentioning would be the equestrian chic trend which is creeping in. Brands like Hermes and Ralph Lauren will thrive this year from harness belts, knee-high riding boots and polos.

These are the most comfortable pair of boots that I own, fyi I only own one.
Chocolate Brown
So suede does not only apply to bags, they look divine on shoes too, especially in brown. Did I also mention that they are one of the hardest materials to care for?

I hope you enjoyed my recommendations! What are your 2026 Fashion Ins and Outs?
